Multi-technical assignment for Assemblin in Kiruna’s new city centre
Assemblin will be responsible for all installations in three new districts being constructed as part of Kiruna’s new city centre. The new buildings will comprise a total of 69,000 square metres of homes, business premises and underground parking.
Construction of districts 7, 8 and 9 will be an important and fundamental element of Kiruna’s new city centre, which has been taking shape since 2017, three kilometres east of the current city centre. These districts form part of phase 3 of construction of the new city centre.
Broad and wide-ranging assignment
The project is being conducted as a joint project between building contractor Nåiden Bygg and its client LKAB. Kirunabostäder will be the owner of the properties. At the request of Nåiden Bygg, Assemblin has been given responsibility for all technical installations for the project. This includes provision of electric power, heating, sanitation, ventilation and building automation.

Expertise and commitment
The commercial premises in districts 7, 8 and 9 are planned for completion by autumn 2022 and the residential properties by winter of the same year. Construction commenced earlier this year.
