Assemblin to carry out comprehensive multidisciplinary project for AstraZeneca
Assemblin has won the assignment to carry out multidisciplinary technical installations in the area of electricity, ventilation, cooling, sanitation, control and ironwork for AstraZeneca in Södertälje, Sweden. The sum total of the contracts is approximately SEK 46 million.
The assignment pertains to ensuring cooling and dehumidification capacity for climate control and process cooling at the facility in Södertälje. The project involves the installation of new cooling towers, refrigerant coolers, and liquid cooling units that produce a higher cooling effect and lower power consumption. The assignment also covers all supplementary work and material.
“This is an extremely exciting and complex project that we are pleased to have been entrusted with carrying out. As a general contractor, it is our responsibility to ensure a properly constructed and reliable facility for AstraZeneca’s drug production,” says Robin Wahlström, Branch Manager Assemblin VS in Nyköping.
“Since cooling production is an extremely important part of AstraZeneca’s production, the responsibility for coordination, operations and scheduling is a crucial factor. With close collaboration between our various technical areas in Assemblin and our select subcontractors, I feel confident about our deliveries,” says Christer Hjert, Division Manager Cooling at Assemblin Ventilation.
Production commences in October and the project will run for just over a year. The project is a collaboration among Assemblin’s resources in Nyköping, Södertälje and Norrköping.
