Major new contract for Assemblin in Norway regarding heating and sanitation technology in climate-smart property project
Assemblin in Norway has secured a new contracting assignment from Construction City Bygg regarding heating and sanitation systems in the new collaborative arena for the construction, civil engineering and property sectors in Oslo. In total, the contract is valued at approximately NOK 211 million, making it the largest individual contract to date for Assemblin Norway.
Having participated in the planning phase alongside Construction City Bygg (CCB) and Construction City Eiendom (CCE) since the spring of 2020, Assemblin has now also secured the contracting assignment for heating and sanitation work during the implementation phase at Norway’s largest office property, in the Oslo district of Ulven. Construction is planned to commence in late 2022/early 2023. Until then, Assemblin will participate actively in the detailed planning process. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025 in connection with the transfer of ownership. OBOS, AF Gruppen and Betonmast, the developer and principal contractor for the project, will move their head offices to the property on completion.

Having been involved in the initial planning phase, in which we gave our input, proposed solutions and calculated various alternative solutions, we have gained valuable insight into the project. Having also been assigned responsibility for the heating and sanitation contracting in its entirety is nonetheless a tremendous recognition of trust,” says Snorre Barking at Assemblin’s Projects Department in Oslo.
With 103,000 square metres of offices and facilities, Construction City will house major and minor players in the construction, civil engineering and property sectors with some 4,500 work stations in total. The project aims to become a collaborative arena serving as a base for the development of sustainable new solutions and smart technologies, as well as fostering dialogue and cooperation between the players. The project aims for half of the materials used in the building to be recycled or reused. The objective is to reduce climate emissions from materials by 40 percent compared with an equivalent building.
