Assemblin performs extensive multidisciplinary project for AstraZeneca
Assemblin has been commissioned to perform and coordinate multidisciplinary technical installations in the areas of electricity, ventilation, cooling and heating within a new project for AstraZeneca in Södertälje to the south of Stockholm. Assemblin is the general contractor for the project and will also be responsible for construction, groundwork, metalwork, coordination, project planning and logistics. In total, the project is valued at about SEK 165 million.
The assignment entails upgrading and securing cooling capacity at the Gärtuna production facility in Södertälje. It includes transitioning to new cooling plants and associated equipment, as well as a general upgrade of the heating, ventilation, power supply and lighting systems. The assignment also includes all associated work and materials.

“We are already familiar with the Gärtuna facility from previous assignments, which naturally facilitates our planning process. As the general contractor, it is our responsibility to safeguard a well-constructed and operationally reliable facility for AstraZeneca’s pharmaceutical production processes,” says Robin Wahlström, Project Manager at Assemblin.
Work will commence in January 2024 and is scheduled for completion in early summer 2025.
Assemblin has also signed a Group-level framework agreement with AstraZeneca providing favourable collaboration conditions for future projects.
